Emmetts hosted a Ladies Day in early September with 90 women in attendance in the Wimmera.
Key note speaker over lunch was Yung Nietschke. She shared her story of coming to Australia as a Vietnamese refugee as a child. Growing up in Melbourne and then marrying a German Farmer in the Barossa where they have a broad acre farm. Yung is an advocate for women's education and rights and works internationally on projects, with the latest being in Afghanistan. She spoke of resilience and grit.
Tickets to lock in a seat were $10 with all proceeds going to Beyond Blue.
Emmetts had four tractors, a harvester and gators there for the guests to drive, and the Emmetts Precision Agronomist spoke.
Des Lardner’s Organic had two naturopaths speak on gut health and hormones. They also had a makeup artist treating the ladies.
Taltarni wines attended and provided tastings throughout the day.
It was a great day to celebrate women on the land and treat them to a special day.
Thank you to everyone who attended and made the day special.
