Kemarob Nominees Seeding Set up 2017

This video has been an hit of Facebook.  For those who have not seen it, this is canola seeding with Kemarob Nominees in Balaklava, Mid North, South Australia.

It is a John Deere 9570RX, towing a modified DBS seeder bar, custom made liquid cart with 3 x 5000Lt tanks and a John Deere 1910 550 bushel 3 Bin Air Cart. All controlled through John Deere Greenstar Controllers and guidance, including Seedstar and the new GRC 2000 rate controller. This allows a total of 6 individual products (or tank mixes in case of liquid) to be applied simultaneously and can be controlled by individual prescription maps. The DBS bar is fitted with a spray bar across the front, to allow pre-emergent herbicide to be applied while twin liquid lines allow liquid products to be applied at different depths. The John Deere 1910 air cart allows three dry products to be applied, again with the ability to run individual prescriptions and section control.

These are all controlled by two GS3 2630’s and a single GEN4 display, while guidance is achieved with a John Deere SF6000 receiver. JDLink and Wireless Data Transfer is utilised to control the flow of information, both in and out, allowing prescription maps and any changes to be sent directly to the machine remotely, as well as application data etc. sent wirelessly into John Deere Operations Center. Section control activation is used to minimise overlaps and skips while iTec Pro allows automated headland turns including machine and implement functions (raise / lower / shut off / speed adjustment etc.). Finally at the rear of the cart a mouse bait spreader is installed. Thanks to Brett Roberts and Josh Young (the star driver in the video) for their time while filming, it is an impressive rig, and was fantastic to see all in operation.
